2020 General Election


The City Secretary conducts all City of Dickinson elections, and administers them in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.

In accordance with the Texas Election Code, the City of Dickinson will hold a General Election on May 2, 2020, to elect a:
  • Mayor
  • Council Member At Large Position 1
  • Council Member At Large Position 3
  • Council Member At Large Position 5
The term of office for these positions is three years from May 2020 to May 2023. Pursuant to the City Charter of Dickinson, Members of Council must meet certain requirements, as listed here.

Notice is hereby given that applications for a place on the City of Dickinson, Texas, General Election ballot may be filed during the following times to the City Secretary.
  • Start Date: January 15, 2020
  • End Date: February 14, 2020
  • End Date Write-In Candidate: February 18, 2020

Application forms are available in the Election Packet, and additional information can always be found by contacting the City Secretary.

The City of Dickinson participates in Galveston County's Countywide Voting Program; qualified voters of the city may vote at any polling location within Galveston County, Texas.
